A friend of mine just released a brilliant iphone app:

While I can’t claim to be the world’s biggest football fan, the visualisation aspect really does it for me. I’ll definitely be playing with it when the world cup starts, especially while SA causes some major upsets

Yes it is cold, but doesn’t stop her from wanting to go outside.

It’s nice and hot, so I’m working outside in the garden while Zoë plays in her bath.

I’m posting this entry from my iPhone and I must say I’m impressed. So what else is new? I bought a skoda last week but its going to be 2 months before I get it, sucks.

Zoë & Elmi

I have recently realised how amiss I have been in not blogging about Zoë development as it happens – I have already forgotten at exactly what age she started sitting on her own (I think it was around 3 months) or when she rolled over for the first time.
So now I will try to remedy the situation and leave a record for myself (and her!)
Two days ago she said mama for the first time – we were playing with her in bed early in the morning and she just came out and said it! And then she repeated it again yesterday and today. If only she knew what it meant!
She has also started properly crawling this week – not just wiggling her bum around. She is pulling herself upright against the furniture, my legs… whatever she can find really. And as we have tile floors throughout the house this is proving to be a bit problematic! I have to throw duvets and blankets everywhere to cushion the inevitable falls.
I also took Zoë swimming for the first time this week (well swimming is stretching it a bit! I took her into the water and she loved it!) I only hope the weather starts warming up soon so that I can take her into the water more often. It has been really windy and rainy the last week.
In general things are going so much better now than in the beginning, although Zoë’s sleep patterns are not great by any means… She wakes up between 2 and 5 times per night… how I miss the good old days when she slept through (before we went to Joburg and ruined it all…) But I am sure it will one day happen again! For now we consider ourselves very lucky if she only wakes up once or twice.
